While doing preschool at home with my 3 year old, I wanted a letter U craft for him that would tie in with our letter of the week. We had been reading about unicorns this week and I thought a unicorn craft would be perfect. Since we were all stuck in the Covid lockdown, I needed a craft that we could make with supplies we had at home. I came up with U is for Unicorn craft and my son loved making it!
Supplies Needed:
- construction in multiple colors
- scissors
- glue stick
- googly eyes
- a marker
How To:
First, cut out a large U shape from a piece of construction paper. From the same color paper, cut out 2 triangle ears and an oval face.
Using other colors of construction paper, cut strips of paper for the mane and tail. We used 4 long strips for the tail and 4 short ones for the mane. Next, cut out a triangular horn.
Glue your letter U to a piece of paper, and then glue on all of the unicorn’s facial pieces. Add googly eyes and draw a mouth and nostrils. Glue on your paper strips for the tail and mane. Now you have a U is for Unicorn craft!
My son had a great time making this craft. We took his picture holding up his craft and letter U writing practice worksheet, so that he could show off his hard work to his grandparents!
