My 4 year old made this super cute watermelon craft out of a paper plate, torn paper, and black finger paint. It turned out so awesome! This craft is great for a summer activity 🙂
Supplies Needed:
- paper plate
- green and dark pink construction paper
- black finger paint
- scissors
- glue
How To:
1) First tear up pieces of green and pink paper. This is fun for kids because they don’t get to tear things apart very often! If your child is struggling with tearing the paper, feel free to cut the paper into smallish pieces.
2) Cut a triangle shape out of a paper plate to be your watermelon slice. (keep the rest of the plate for other paper plate crafts)
3) Glue the green paper along the rounded edge of the plate. Then glue the pink paper on the remainder of the plate. Let your project dry.
4) Using washable, black finger paint, have your child add the paint “seeds” with their finger. I like to keep baby wipes or a wet paper towel nearby so that I can quickly get paint off of my kiddo’s hands before it accidently gets everywhere!
